I Caved...

...and it ain't pretty.

Yes, you guessed it. I HPT'd this morning, and it was negative. Not even a hint of a line, no matter how hard I looked. And believe me, I looked hard.

Today is 8dp3dt (well, technically 7.5dp3dt, since my transfer was in the afternoon). I want to try to stay positive because I know that it's still early, but I don't think this bodes well.

The first beta is tomorrow (Friday). Since 48 hours would be on Sunday, my second beta isn't until Monday. For some strange reason, our clinic refuses to give the results until after the second beta.

Unfortunately, I have things at work on Tuesday and Wednesday that I just can't get out of. So if the results aren't what we hope for, I'd like a little time over the weekend to deal with that. I think I'm going to try to get the lab tech to give us the results tomorrow. She knows me and our situation, and she was good about sneaking the results to me during the May pregnancy.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. If the news is not good, I agree that you should get it now and not have to wait until you're in the throes of a work week. Infertility sucks! I'll hope it was just too early for you....

Please, please let it be a false negative!!! It has seemed like everything has gone really well with this cycle, it's time for the end part to go well for you too.

What kind of test did you use? First response seem to have quite a high false negative rate...

By law, they HAVE to give you the results if you ask. They're YOUR results from YOUR medical record. So don't take no for an answer. (I just don't understand clinics that won't tell a first beta. That's just beyond my understanding. And I'm a nurse, so I have ZERO patience for medical bullshit.) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Dear Rebecca, I'm hoping with all my heart that the pee stick was not quite up to date on developments. May you get hopeful news tomorrow.

Hi Rebecca, It seems to me that you tested too early! I hope you get better news from tomorrow's beta! Good Luck!!!

I hope you just tested too early, and that you're able to get some (good!) news sooner rather than later.

There's been a rash of BFPs in the blogosphere lately, and I hope you're one of them soon :-)
