Typing from Nook at 4 a.m., so this will be short.
Had dinner, fell asleep for a couple hours, came upstairs to go to bed. Felt a couple sharp pains right before bed. Didn't like them but decided not to worry.
Didn' t have to get up to go to the bathroom for 4.5 hours. Told myself not to worry (should have been only 3 hours) even though I had a lot to drink last night.
Got up to let the dogs out, went to the bathroom.
There is spotting again. But this time, it doesn't look like the staining type of spotting I've been seeing, it looks like the bad kind. And now there's a pain on the left side of my ute area that I don't like.
I got cocky yesterday and scheduled the first u/s after getting the beta results. Ha!
Now I'm worried.

It can still be multiples or a sub-chorionic hematoma, so I am going to stay positive. Pleast take it easy. I wish they could see something in there at this point on u/s so you can know what is happening in there. I hate this!
Ack! But this can still be ok. I'm just sorry you have anything to worry about at all. You deserve an easy pregnancy, but apparently your uterus doesn't know this :( Hope you can rest a bit today.
with that beta, it is very unlikely to be a miscarriage today. Could be a SCH or anything similar, but not a spontenous miscarriage. Hang in there. Leave the US appointment, you may well still need it.
When is your US scheduled?? I never had any spotting, so I can't advise you there, but I never stopped worrying throughout the whole pregnancy. It never goes away, even once they're born. Just so you know ;)
Rest, drink lots of fluids (water, nothing with caffeine). Call the nurse to report what you've seen and she what she recommends. I'm sure your bloggy friends will weigh in as well. Hang in there!
I totally had spotting early in my first trimester. Some was bad looking like dark brown stuff that comes right before my period, some was more tan colored. It totally stopped by 8-9 weeks. I'm now 39.5 weeks pregnant with my baby boy. Hang in there.
I agree with Thalia - such a good beta and such a good rise does NOT sound like a struggling pregnancy. If you're like me and this turns out to be a successful pregnancy then everything's up for grabs because anything you felt in previous is almost irrelevant - there's no real way to disentangle what was a positive part of those pregnancies and what was a sign of something bad. Again - hanging in there with you!
I know so many people who have had spotting or even bleeding, with successful pregnancies. Your beta yesterday was great, I think if you're bleeding b/c you're losing the pg that it would have at least started to go down rather than still being so high. A friend started bleeding last week at 5.5 weeks, her betas on Weds and Fri were 34 and 19.
Holding hope that all is well and you're just one of many women who spots during early pregnancy-- not that it's any consolation at all. Hoping that you have been able to find some comfort and cheering for you!
Please don't loose hope. I spotted until week 14 and even had an episode of severe bleeding in week 8 due to subchrionic hematoma. A trip to the ER showed the babies to be doing great. I know it is hard but try not to stress to much as it won't help you-I know that is easier said than done.
keeping my prayers going for you....I hope it's just nothing....I had my bleeding episodes much later and I know how scary it can be....hoping the u/s shows a perfectly viable intrauterine pregnancy...the spotting to go away soon!!!
The ups and downs of getting pg and staying pg just really suck. I kept thinking I'd relax after passing the next hurdle, and it never happened. There'd just be something new to worry about.
Hope you can have a reassuring ultrasound soon, because the betas just can't tell you enough.
